The U.S. Small Business Administration approved Gov. Roy Cooper’s request for a disaster declaration for small businesses that are suffering economic losses due to the coronavirus pandemic. The action enables affected businesses to apply for low-interest SBA disaster loans. Applicants may apply  via SBA’s secure website at DisasterLoan.sba.gov. Other information is available at the SBA’s Customer Service Center at 1-800-659-2955.

NCWorks Career Centers will be closed to the general public effective Monday, March 23, 2020
Due to the COVID-19 public health emergency, beginning Monday, March 23, 2020 the NC Works Career Centers will be closed to the public/walk in customers. NCWorks Career Center staff will continue to report to work as normal.Employers and Job Seekers are welcome to call the NCWorks Career Centers during normal business hours from 8:30 am – 5:00 pm.Employers and Job Seekers may request an in person appointment; priority will be given to employers and job seekers who do not have internet access. Questions regarding unemployment insurance benefits should be directed to the NC Department of Commerce, Division of Employment Security
